Godfrey Group, which includes Godfrey Group Recrutment, has a firm commitment to Privacy and maintaining the confidentiality of personal information in accordance with the legislation and guidelines laid down by the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.
This Privacy Statement outlines the types of personal information gathered and used by Godfrey Group and informs you of our efforts to ensure that the information we keep is accurate, and where possible, up-to-date.
Information Collection
Personal information that we collect and hold generally falls into the following categories:
- Information obtained from a resume or other like document submitted by you to be held for recruitment purposes.
- Information obtained from a resume or other document submitted by you in response to a job advertisement.
- Information gathered from public sources such as newspapers or websites.
- Information obtained from direct discussions with you, face-to-face, over the telephone and electronically.
- Information obtained from others who know you and in the process of formal reference checking.
Information Use
Personal information we gather is used to provide our Directors, Advisers and Researchers with data needed for the purposes of determining your suitability in relation to executive search and recruitment assignments. During the course of an assignment, you may be contacted by one of our Directors, Advisers or Researchers to update your personal information.
This information will not be shared with other recruitment firms outside of Godfrey Group. Any information provided to or collected by us remains strictly confidential and intended for the sole use of our Directors, Advisers, Researchers and other staff.
Your personal information will be used in our executive search and recruitment business only. You will not be added to any third party mailing lists without your permission, and your personal information will not be lent or sold to any third party companies.
Disclosure
We may disclose your personal information for the purposes for which it is primarily held or for a related secondary purpose.
In some cases we may only disclose information with your consent.
We may disclose your personal information where we are under a legal duty to do so, including circumstances where we are under a lawful duty of care to disclose information.
Where we contract out some services, it is possible that our contractors may see some of your personal information.

Access
Subject to some exceptions that are set out in the National Privacy Principles, you can gain access to the personal information that we hold about you. Our fee for the administrative task of locating and retrieving your personal file is $50.
We may refuse access if it would interfere with the privacy rights of other persons or if it would breach any confidentiality that attaches to that information.
If you wish to enquire about obtaining access to your personal information you should contact our Privacy Officer, and be in a position to verify your identity.
You should also anticipate that it may take up to 14 days to process your application for access as there may be a need to retrieve information from storage and review information in order to determine what information may be provided.
